Loved the show. I think the Gujarati woman with the nose ornament was my favorite – but they were all great. The web is great, but nothing beats a real print.

Some time ago you wrote an article on the end of Kodachrome. A few days ago (July 14, 2010) this article was posted in The Witchita Eagle:
Last Kodachrome roll processed in Parsons Kansas

Slideshow speaking about Kodachrome and the last lab that processes(ed) it.
Kodachrome slideshow presentation by Dwayne’s Photo, Parsons Kansas
http://www.kansas.com/static/slides/1130kodachrome/
Synopsis: Steve McCurry, photographer for National Geographic, successfully solicited Eastman Kodak to get the very last roll of Kodachrome that rolled off the manufacturing line. McCurry is famous for shooting Sharbat Gala the “Afghan Girl” which graced the front cover of NG.
NG then closely followed the manufacture of this final roll through its last frame shot and development and may do an article on it in Spring 2011.
McCurry chose to shoot NYC and India on that final roll.
For those of you, like myself, who might have some Kodachrome 64 in the fridge – if you want to shoot/develop it you must do so before Dec 2010. Parson’s lab, the last lab in the entire world to process Kodachrome, will discontinue the service at that time.

Thanks so much for this comment. I didn’t know that Steve has the last roll, but I’m not surprised. I loved Kodachrome when it was the best color media at the time. The final page of an epic novel. I’m glad to have been one of the characters but equally happy to be a part of the new digital age. Excelsior! nv

Yes, it was wild! I didn’t even realize that there was a jazz quartet outside also. I hope you do have a chance to make it to the show. It is up until August 28th.
